MyComplianceCY.eu was an idea borne by Alexia Georgiou during 2023, that became a reality in the early days of 2024.

What is Alexia's history, motivation and key to taking this idea and turning it into reality?

Alexia graduated from The Grammar School and her main A Levels were based on Economics, Law and Accouning, with her professional studies being in the field of Banking & Finance and Compliance. Alexia has a Bachelor Degree of Banking and Finance from the London Institute of Banking & Finance (UK), a Diploma Degree of Banking and Finance from the American Institute of Banking (USA), and is a member of The Cyprus Securities And Exchange Commission (CySEC), since she has Diplomas on CySEC Advance and CySEC AML.

In mid-1998, she was employed at Bank of Cyprus PLC at the IT Clearing Department for 6 years, continuing her journey at Bank of Cyprus as a Banker for Retail Customers, Business Customers and International Customers until the end of July of 2022 where she took early retirement. During her employment with Bank of Cyprus, she took the opportunity to study for her Diplomas on Banking and Finance and CySEC Compliance.

After her early retirement, Alexia applied for the Human Resource Development Authority (HRDA)  Course as a Trainer Stage 5, on Compliannce and Banking & Finance, in order to accomplish her mission to provide quality training and expert advice on compliance issues, via helping individuals enrich their pool of knowledge and establish robust processes for businesses to safeguard against compliance issues. She achieved her goal of becoming a Trainer, and by the end of 2023, Alexia already had 76 training hours on record, with a 95% success rate on exams for her course candidates. 

Following this success story, she decided to create her own online business to provide online training to those who want to get a degree on CySEC courses, or on the job training for those companies or individuals that want to train on compliance matters, banking and finance, but also to help by providing expert advice to businesses to improve or create their Compliance Manuals.
